For Rutland raises funds to pay for specialist advisers at Citizens Advice Rutland, who provide free, confidential, independent, non-medical advice to people of all ages who are living with long-term health conditions in Rutland and the surrounding area.
Since For Rutland started in June 2014, the specialist advisers have obtained over £7m for local people through benefit gain, debt write-off or grant funding.
1 in 4 people in the UK suffer from long term conditions, such as cancer, strokes, dementia, multiple sclerosis, heart disease and mental illness. This affects every part of our community and people of all ages.
The point of diagnosis is often just the beginning. Living with the practical problems associated with long-term conditions can be overwhelming at a time when people are at their most vulnerable.
